Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

General questions

What is ePax?

ePax is a software for Windows designed for Travel Agencies. It is used to manage future clients' requests, beginning with an initial request and ending with the final sale, but making an estimate and "a la carte" tours in between.

ePax manages only requests coming from the Internet?

No, even if its strength resides in the automatism of emails management. A potential client can make a request by phone, for example, and the Agency can establish immediately a personalized tour. Then, ePax manages all the exchanges with the client.

I bought 4 licences but 10 persons are likely to use the software. What can I do?

ePax is multi-user, this means that the licence is associated to a computer, regardless of the number of users. Moreover, information relating to a user is centralized. This allows a user to work on any computer and to retrieve his parameters.

What Kind of sale does ePax manage?

ePax can manage just as well the sale of a service (city tour), a complete tour, only a plane ticket or hotels. In every case, informations are independent and it is easy, for example, to add a service to a tour already sold.

My client wants a personalized tour. What's the procedure?

After creating the initial request, you have to set up a tour. Often, a personalized tour is the adaptation of a standard tour. In this case, making a complete tour with prices only takes a few minutes. If the tour is very specific, you can see that to get the detail day by day for a 3-week tour with prices, the procedure only takes ten minutes.

Technical questions

What is the minimum computer configuration required?

ePax needs a Pentium I 200 Mhz computer minimum, with at least 128 Mb RAM memory and at least 20 Mb available on disc space. It can work in local mode or in network and it doesn't need a server. A permanent Internet connection is recommended but not mandatory. ePax works with Windows 95 or more.

Do I have to buy a database?

ePax can work with its own internal database or with a database already existing, only if it's compatible SQL (most of them are).

What is the security of my data?

All the important information regarding the software (database, emails, parameters, etc) is saved in one place. This makes it easier for the administrator to make backups on regular basis. Moreover, crucial information is encrypted when saved on the hard disk.
